FAQs

Q      Which versions of  Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210 turntables can the revTech 1200 module be fitted to?

A       All known machines excluding the 2016 SL-1200 / 1210 G / GR / GAE and the 2019 MK7 models.

These new redesigned variations have completely different control and motor drive systems.

         Supported models include 1200 / 1210 turntables with the suffix  MK2 - MK3 - MK4 - MK5 and MK6

which were manufactured between the years of 1978 to 2010.

The letters following the last digit usually refer to a particular feature, special cosmetic finish or limited edition.

One example would be the MK5G which has two selectable pitch ranges, a digital pitch scale and reset  button.

The LTD models have a piano black finish, GLD models have all exposed metalwork plated in 24 karat gold.

These models use the same control electronics - with a few subtle performance changes made over the years.

Q       Is there any possibility of  causing any damage or harm to my turntable by fitting one of these modules?

A       No. All Technics SL-1200  and SL-1210 turntables are put into reverse every time you press the STOP switch.

This is how the platter comes to a halt so quickly - the drive motor is reversed for a set period of time.

Anyone who has adjusted the internal BRAKE control, will know that setting it incorrectly has the effect

of making the platter spin backwards after it has stopped, instead of it coming to a perfect standstill.

Micropower logic is used to interface with the main board, and no loading is placed on the turntable's electronics.

Q       Is there a limited guarantee of any sort supplied with the revTech 1200 reversing modules?

A       As these modules will be fitted by a third party to equipment of unknown condition, history and age, no.

All modules are thoroughly tested before they are dispatch - they will provide many years of service

if fitted and used in accordance with the supplied installation and operating instructions.
